πŸ“ The University of Global Peace is pleased to announce that Direct Entry (Pathway 2) applications are now open for our Master’s (MA, MPhil) and Doctoral (PhD) programs. This pathway is specifically designed for students who already possess a strong foundation in English and research skills.

πŸŽ“ Programs Available & Duration:

Master of Arts (MA) – 2 Years

Master of Philosophy (MPhil) – 2 Years

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) – 3 Years

πŸ—“ Application Period:

March 25, 2026 (Wednesday) to May 15, 2026 (Friday)

βœ… English Proficiency Requirements for Direct Entry:

For MA & MPhil Applicants:

IELTS Academic: Overall score 5.5

TOEFL iBT: Overall score 55

PTE Academic: Overall score 40

Duolingo (DET): Overall score 95

For PhD Applicants:

IELTS Academic: Overall score 6.0

TOEFL iBT: Overall score 70

PTE Academic: Overall score 50

Duolingo (DET): Overall score 110

πŸ“Œ Note: Applicants without a valid English proficiency certificate must take the university’s in-house English 4-Skill Test. The minimum passing score is 60 for the MA/MPhil programs and 70 for the PhD program. If an applicant does not achieve the required score, they have the option to switch to Pathway 1 to attend the Preliminary course.

βœ… Academic Entry Qualifications:

For MA & MPhil Programs:

Monks & Nuns: Must hold a Dhammacariya degree or a BA in Buddhism.

Laypersons: Must hold a BA degree from a recognized university AND possess either two diplomas related to Buddhist literature, certificates from two Buddhist exams, or the Diploma in Buddhism and Peace from the University of Global Peace.

For PhD Program:

Monks & Nuns: Must hold an MA in Buddhism from a recognized domestic or foreign university.

Laypersons: Must hold an MA degree AND possess either two diplomas related to Buddhist literature, certificates from two Buddhist exams, or the Diploma in Buddhism and Peace from the University of Global Peace.

Additional Requirement: A 3,000-word research proposal written in English must be submitted along with the PhD application.

πŸ“Œ Special Note: If you have successfully completed your academic program but have not yet been awarded your official degree certificate, you may apply using a formal recommendation letter confirming your course completion.
