Academic English, research practice, and communication in one bridge program.

The Diploma in Communication and Research Skills prepares students for higher study by strengthening reading, writing, speaking, grammar, research, and presentation abilities. It is designed as a practical transition program between general English proficiency and the demands of postgraduate coursework.

Assessment 10% attendance, 20% assignments and mini-tests, 70% final exam

Learning Outcomes

  • Identify and apply appropriate reading strategies (skimming, scanning, and inference) for complex academic texts.
  • Compose structured formal and informal emails, reflective journal entries, and professional profiles.
  • Understand and apply quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, including hypothesis formulation and data collection.
  • Master public speaking and presentation techniques for academic and professional audiences.
  • Gain a foundational understanding of library management systems and the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC).

Duration: 8 months (2 Semesters).
Credits: 14–16 total credits (approx. 30 hours per credit).
Grading: Assessment is based on Attendance & Participation (10%), Assignments & Mini-tests (20%), and a Final Written Examination (70%).
