Summary of the Myanmar New Year Dhamma Message for Peace

This is a summary of the New Year’s exhortation (Ovadha) and message of loving-kindness (Metta Katha) bestowed by the Rector Sayadaw of the World Peace University, Bhaddanta Dr. Zawtika.
1. Protection through Dhamma
The Sayadaw expresses his wish for a peaceful and prosperous world, emphasizing that those who practice and live by the Dhamma will be rightfully protected by it.
2. Morality, Concentration, and Wisdom (Sila, Samadhi, Panna)
He urges everyone to:
* Maintain and uphold fundamental Sila (Morality) without compromise.
* Cultivate Samadhi (Concentration).
* Develop Vipassana Panna (Insight Wisdom) to realize the ultimate truth.
3. Reflection on the Three Characteristics (Tilakkhana)
True and lasting peace can be attained by reflecting on the nature of all conditioned things:
* Anicca
* Dukkha
* Anatta
Aspiration and Blessing
May all citizens of this nation and all beings across the world attain Santi Sukha:the ultimate, supreme peace.
